I cant customize my own background?

I know everyone keeps saying to right click and save image as... but what do you do after that everytime i try to put it on my page it says its not jpeg format how do i do this i am gettin my backgrounds from

It looks like they have their files in .gif format. You'll need a paint program that can open the .gif and then you'll have to save it as a .jpg.

If you have windows xp, open them in paint and save them in the proper file format.
You'd have to save the background as a .jpg file first... when you right click and save it, make sure that it's in .jpg format.

When you want to change the background, right click on your desktop and choose Properties, then Desktop, then Browse, and find the file you just saved.
RIght click save as once its saved to the folder you want it in go to the folder and open it then click on the file you just saved you should have image viewer opened right click again and choose the option set as desktop background
