I think it's stupid to be PROUD or EMBARASSED of your ethnicity or background.

You should only be proud of positive ACHIEVEMENTS. Your background, etnicity/race are not achievements.. you're born with them, they just are the way they are.. just like rocks, trees, that water runs, that air flows.. stupid and shallow to be proud or ashamed of such things.

You can be proud of the good things your ancesters may have done, but then again it's about achievements and others of different race and background can be just as proud of those achievements, however descendents of heroes have no right to claim any pride for what others have achieved. We are all individuals, we are all humans and should feel pride for achievements of ourselves or others, indifference of background or whatever.. unless you are proud of people's achievements CONSIDERING their disadvantaged background.. so you can and should measure someone's achievements against the challenges/disadvantages their personal backgrounds may have posed.

why bother wasting my time in thinking about something that is not possible?
i don't think i would I AM PROUD TO BE WHITE

in my old school in houston i was like the only white person , and i love being different!

nice question
Are you thinking of pedigreed dogs/cats/horses rather than people???

Bloodline in important only to animal breeders...

If I am proud of my ancestors, it is for their accomplishments-not for their mere existence...existence is NOT a cause for pride/honor/respect...

Ethicity??? how far back do you go???

With evolution, all humanity started as an offshoot of "Old World" monkeys...is that something to be boastful of???
My family is caucasion and we have overcome a great deal of adversity. I have overcome a great deal myself as have many people from many generations and diversifications. There is no such thing as "the best" race of people. If you are kind and loving, if you give, and try to avoid prejudice, then you should be proud of who you are, no matter what.
i would not change anything about my cultural and ethnic background....i am a product of african slaves.....irish settlers....and native americans.....i am extremely proud of all of my ancestors...actually with the state of humans these days i cant imagine i would be able to endure any of the hardships any of my ancestors endured.....i am happy and proud to be who i am .....
Never. I am incredibly proud of my ancestors. I come from Irish and African decent. I don't know if what I find special about my ethic background anyone else would find special. I know like some, not all, it is part of my definition of who I am. I am constantly learning of the cultures that comprise me and educate others....sometimes whether or not they are as excited as I am about the topic...I guess : )
