If you want to fill most of the main page or the entire page, you'll need a background that's at least 1300 x 2000.
You can resize the image here:

But, you have to keep the image under 250kb (it's possible).
No background will fill the blog section page because there are 5 or so blogs per page there and the background will scroll.

Not unless you post it in the three places they have in the customize your own page. But you may be able to do that. But l never try that way before.Try and see
